Shreveport Opera begins 2010 -2011 season with Mozart's Don Giovanni October 30, 2010

ShreveportMozart's Don Giovanni will be presented by the Shreveport Opera Saturday October 30, to begin its new season. The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra musicians will be playing in the pit for the first time since the end of the 2008-2009 season. During last years work stoppage/strike the musicians were contracted separately to play the opera and ballet seasons.

Artistic Director for the Shreveport Opera is Steve Aiken. Jerome Shannon will be on the conductor's podium once again.

Longview Symphony begins season with Fireworks and Brahms Violin Concerto in D

Orchestra rehearsals have begun with Music Director Tonu Kalam on the podium for the 2010-2011 season and the October 2 concert promises to be a Musical "BLAST" with Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks, the Samuel Barber Adagio for Strings, Bartok's Romanian Dances and the Brahms Violin Concerto in D with guest artist, violinist Shannon Lee.
